"I love photography for its ability to tell stories and create and preserve memories for a lifetime."

During high school, my friends and I often had our photos taken, leading me to meet a photographer named Bongo Jackson, a refugee who now works with FilmAid. We became friends and eventually began working together. I helped him find clients, and he taught me the basics of using a camera. As we worked together, my love for photography grew as I realised how photos can tell a story about someone, create and preserve memories, and in our digital age, where the internet interconnects everything, can be shared and maintained for years to come.

I was eager to continue learning and follow in my friend's footsteps by pursuing a photography career. When my friend mentioned the FilmAid media class, I saw it as an excellent opportunity to improve my photography skills and broaden my understanding of videography and editing, including learning techniques like framing and angling videos.

Having navigated challenges like being raised by a single parent, understanding economic hardships, and facing limited opportunities in the job market, I am determined to create my path and build my career as a photographer. I dream of becoming the best photographer and opening a large studio, capturing all kinds of photos, from portraits to moments in cultural festivals.
