Ahmed’s expectant wife, (Isinino) develops symptoms of fever-related illnesses, but he instead insists on self-medication. As her condition worsens, friends and family prevail upon him to take his wife to the hospital to save both her life as well as that of the unborn child. At the hospital, after examination and a blood test, the wife is found to have malaria and Ahmed reveals to the doctor about self-medicating. The story ends well with Isinino slowly recovering, but with vital lessons learnt by the family as far as prevention of malaria, recognition and differentiation of the various fever-related symptoms and appropriate treatment-seeking behaviour in case of malaria.
