Whoever, Wherever, and Whenever, We Stand #WithRefugees

This year’s World Refugee Day attests to our belief in common humanity: everyone has the right to seek safety – whoever they are, wherever they come from, and whenever they are forced to flee.

Themed “the Right to Seek Safety,” we join the rest of the world in commemorating the strength, courage, and perseverance of refugees globally.

FilmAid Kenya is an Africa-focused development and humanitarian Communications INGO that harnesses the power and influence of media, arts, and technology to increase access to education, skills, learning, advocacy, and engaging with communities in the provision of critical information.

Since 2001, FilmAid Kenya, with the support of our Affected Communities, Donors, and Partners, has used participatory, culturally respectful, and inclusive approaches to provide opportunities for creative expression, empower communities to tell their own stories in their own voices, and to engage in their communities' information needs to defend their dignity and lead safe & healthy lives.

Our Theory of Change guides authorship and representation that matters when communicating information for social change with dignity and respect through creativity, participation, access, and partnership.

We strive to Inform, Engage and Inspire through our three core pillars: Skills and Social Development, Participatory Media Production and Dissemination, and Communication, Community Engagement and Accountability, to our affected communities, whoever they are, wherever they come from, and whenever they are forced to flee.
